Where to even begin with this perfect day.

From the very first email that I received from Christina, I KNEW we had to work together. I just had this feeling that we would be good friends in no time given both of our personalities and interests. And when I flew out to Ohio to hang with them + take their engagements, I was instantly proven right!

Throughout the process of everything being planned for their wedding, one thing was certain. And that was that they wanted this day to be about them. Them, their love, their passion for new places and adventure, and those closest to them. They didn’t even hesitate when it came down to whether they were going to elope or have a big wedding. It was always elope. And it was absolutely amazing to see everyone that showed up and supported them and their decision, even if it was hundreds of miles away from home in a place they had never been to.

And that’s exactly what they were after. They were after something adventurous and new— they obviously had never been married before, so why not go to a place they had never been before either? Their first time in Rocky Mountain National Park will now forever be their first incredible adventure together as a newly married couple— and that’s pretty rad.

I feel so grateful to have been a part of their story— and I was welcomed in like family from the moment I got there and nothing feels greater than that, to feel like you belong when you’re merely the photographer. The day couldn’t have gone more perfect. We woke up before the sun even rose, Christina + Blake got into their wedding attire for the first time, and we headed into the park fro sunrise so they could exchange their vows one on one, personal and in the silence of the mountains. Pretty cool right?

We ran around the park that morning stopping at every epic viewpoint we saw, and embracing the insane wind that came with it. They wanted their day to be laid back and stress free, so after wrapping up their first look, they changed out of their wedding clothes and them + their friends and family + I explored Estes Park, went to lunch, and just enjoyed the day. When it came time for the ceremony— they got all dressed up again, and headed down into an open field with an insane mountain backdrop to be married as the storm rolled in over the peaks. Naturally, we chased the storm the rest of the evening to see the Rocky Mountains in all their glory.

Could a day get better? It ended with a freaking good steak so not really 😉
