Destination Iceland Elopement
I about lost my mind when Amanda + Thomas reached out to me and told me of their plans for a destination elopement in Iceland. And they wanted ME there to document it. Iceland is still my favorite place I’ve ever visited for so many reasons. It’s where Chase and I went on our honeymoon and made so many epic memories exploring a country we have never been to. This place is absolutely BREATHTAKING every corner you turn and so different from any other countries out there. It truly is the land of fire and ice. Half the time it feels like you have the entire country to yourself. Massive waterfalls, cracking glaciers, crazy summer storms that turn into the most beautiful sunrises and sunsets, what’s better? I still could go back time and time again and explore new places and things and never get bored.
An epic Iceland adventure
So— that all being said, to capture one of the most precious memories for a couple in this place that has my heart? OF COURSE.
After multiple FaceTimes and conversations of planning with these two, the week finally came and we were all in Iceland together for the best day ever. One of my good friends filled in for my husband with me on this trip and it was so much fun. We met up with Amanda and Thomas the evening of their elopement and they had the cutest little first look on the patio of their cabin in the woods (that they so kindly let us bunk in for a night!). Amanda wanted to hit Iceland during the season where lupins were in bloom— and these are only in bloom a few weeks out of the year and June is the best time to potentially hit them. Lucky for us they were in bloom and EVERYWHERE. These two exchanged their vows in lupin fields with the colorful purple, blue, and green mountains in the background. We spent the evening running around the southern region of Iceland until we were beat.
how to make the most of your elopement
They wanted an adventure for their day, one that they could look back on as a memory and an experience. All at a place where they may only go once in their life— and all they needed was each other. The love and kind words that were exchanged between these two during the few hours we go to spend with them just solidified how much love they have for each other. It was so sweet and such an honor to be a part of this day. Words can’t even do it justice. Love these two!
xx
