Boise Idaho Intimate Rainy Wedding | Jenna + Jim

Like an old time film…

These two and their love for each other will have you feeling like you’re watching and living in an old time romantic film. Not even kidding, their love for each other, life, and everything nostalgic gives me chills and an appreciation for all the small things in life. They celebrated their love and the start of their forever in Boise, Idaho on a rainy, spring day. A rainy spring day fit them so perfectly, if you ask me. Theres something romantic and gentle about rainy days as the world is gaining back it’s color, and that’s exactly how I would describe Jenna and Jim.

I met these two over coffee for the first time a while back, and they told me of their dreams to travel the world, go to New York City on their honeymoon (literally so fitting if you know Jenna and Jim and I love it so much), and to celebrate amongst family and friends in this little place they now call home. These two first met in chemistry class back in high school, had known each other for seven years, and were engaged for three years before tying the not— so you can only imagine the anticipation of finally living this beautiful day. They have a love for the outdoors as well as one just the same for the big city— so they wanted to incorporate both of those aspects into their wedding day— which they did exactly that. They tied the knot with a traditional Jewish ceremony in one of Boise’s beautiful parks as the rain gently fell, and had their reception on the top of a Penthouse in the heart of the city of Boise, and YES— the sky was that stormy and blue the evening of their wedding and I’m still swooning over this day. To top it off, these two have such a love for astrology— they of course incorporated that into their day too. They had me swooning over our first meeting when Jenna showed me mock-ups of their invite suite! (Check it out below!) The second these two told me of their love for astrology, I remembered a styled shoot I had done the previous year focused around all things celestial. I had bought celestial themed hair clips and just knew that Jenna had to have them!! She wore them on her wedding day and it seriously made my heart so happy knowing I could contribute such a small token to their day.

Getting married with the gentle rain, roaming lush green parks as newlyweds as the earth was coming to life again after winter, walking the steps of the place they first met, roaming the streets of the city + soaking up quiet moments on top of parking garages— and celebrating it all with family and friends as the sky turns a deep stormy blue to add to the aesthetic of the astrology-love-filled day, this day was perfect wouldn’t you say? And yes, Jim wrote Jenna a song and sang it to her near the end of their reception and they’re just the coolest. (He also wrote and recorded an album of 12 songs for their sixth month anniversary, so you win Jim, you win!) Check it out below 🙂

Jenna and Jim, life is better for those people that have you in it. Even for me— just your little third wheel photographer capturing a little bit of your love story. It was such an honor being a part of this day that embodied who you two were and are completely. Loved every single second of it + getting to know the both of you— forever grateful for this day and will cherish it for a long time!
