Fall Idaho In-Home Proposal || Rosie + Ryan

Where do I even begin with these two!? I’ve become friends with these two goofballs over the last couple of years, and it makes my heart so happy. I’ve become closest to Rosie— as she’s a photographer in the Boise, Idaho area too!! We pretty much fell in love over our dogs and charcuterie boards so, what can we say.

I’ve said it before, but it’s always the BIGGEST honor to be asked to photograph moments + memories for other creatives. Nerve-wracking for sure, but the biggest honor. Rosie reached out to me wanting me to document some moments in hers and Ryan’s first ever home, back in the Spring of 2019! She wanted to schedule out a fun, relaxed, morning in home session for the upcoming Fall— so we did just that! Just a few months later, Ryan reached out to me asking me if I wanted to help him plan a proposal to Rosie the morning of their in-home session. ARE. YOU. KIDDING ME. If you know these two, you know this was a longgg anticipation for Rosie!! Rosie and Ryan had been together for nearly 6 years by the time their session rolled around, and known each other since 6th grade!! So this was something that Rosie was patiently waiting for, and Ryan and I are over here snickering to ourselves because little did she know 😉

The morning of their session rolled around and months of planning were about to be set into action. I brought Chase along with me so he could obviously hang out, but then obviously help out with video-ing their proposal and helping with the music. We started the morning off chill and in their backyard, soaking up the morning sun that was peaking over their trees. Playing with Dodger and just having the best time. Ryan sneakily planned to run to the bathroom after about 15 minutes into their session, to grab the ring “and go to the bathroom”. When he came back out, we quickly put on the song that means so much to them and their relationship. Rosie thought it randomly came on through the shuffle of their playlist they made for this morning, but then seconds later Ryan was on his knee, proposing to Rosie in their perfectly lit backyard of their first home. A TOTAL SURPRISE. Not the only surprise either!! Later on throughout the session as we moved things inside to get all cozy in their living room, eat bacon off their charcuterie board, and drink mimosas, Ryan surprised Rosie with having her brother and sister in law from Colorado come over to the house with her parents! The sweetest— its giving me chills all over again! And queue the tears again 😉 We wrapped up the rest of the session where these guys were just on cloud 9 and it was the MOST special thing to be a part of, watching these two take the next steps into their future together. What a special day. To not only document some moments in your first home together, but the moments that start the rest of your life together, too.

Ryan— you freaking killed it. Total surprise— MULTIPLE surprises, and a day to just relish in the moment with their closest family and friends.
