Summer Engagements in the Sawtooths
Amanda + Mathias are the kind of people that I just want to steal and keep with me in Idaho to be my best friends— is that weird?? If you met them you’d really understand in a second!! They reached out to me FOREVER ago— and we booked their engagements for months in advance! We planned and chatted for those months in-between and then they decided to just go ahead and book me for their wedding day too and THAT MAKES ME SO HAPPY.
The day finally came for their engagements and by this point I’m losing my mind excited to meet these two— they were so sweet, so lively, and just wanted to have a good time in the mountains, my favorite place to be?! These two drove all the way from Seattle to Idaho, and not just to Boise— to the Sawtooths. For anyone that knows Idaho that’s no straight shot right off the path— its another 3-3.5 hours out of the way. They did this in like a day and a half because these two being the smarties that they are— are both in school and work full time and hardly have a split second to spare. Yet they were wiling to come all the way to ME, just so I could capture their love in a place that spoke to them.
Why the Sawtooths?
The mountains hold a special place in their heart— they are both from Wyoming! (Which they chose to have their wedding outside of the Tetons for that reason…that post coming soon!!) And honestly the Sawtooths remind me of the Tetons on a smaller scale!! Jagged mountain peaks with wide open fields to run through— it’s like the mini version of the Tetons. Chase joined me on this engagement session and it was so much freaking fun. We ran around the Sawtooths for a few hours getting to know each other and becoming instant friends. After which we ended the night over s’mores overlooking the valley and mountain range right before the storm rolled in (which the second we left it started POURING). Not bad for a summer evening, huh?
grateful for those that are grateful for me!
I’m so grateful for these two— beyond words. After I delivered their gallery I received the most heartfelt message from not only Amanda, but Mathias too. It’s not very often that I get messages from the groom— it’s usually just a brides thing. Which is amazing and I’m always so happy to receive ANY and ALL feedback. But something about the BOTH of them taking the time to express their thoughts and feelings on their engagement shoots and delivered images just really tugged at my heart strings. I have never received such beautiful words about my work— half of them I honestly probably had to look up in the dictionary cause these two are just too smart for me.
Amanda + Mathias— thank you for being so genuine and sharing your light wherever you go. I am so lucky to know the both of them, and am literally scheming up ways to go hiking and backpack around the mountains with these two in the near future! They’re too cool for me but I’ll make them hang! 😉
LOVE THESE TWO and can’t wait to share their beautiful wedding.
xx
