If you missed the intro to how I first met Karlie and Travis, check out the day-before shoot at Loloma Lodge that happened the day before their wedding— where they danced to records in the cutest little cabin.
And now on to Karlie + Travis’s wedding day deep in the woods, along the river, at Loloma Lodge in Oregon.
Long story short, all the planning…. and unfortunately replanning— due to the pandemic and the insane forest fires that Oregon got last year– these two just were in it for the long haul and WERE getting married. They had to make so many hard changes when it came to their day. Downsizing from a big wedding with family and friends, to only 9 of their family members– to rearranging all of the planned areas of the venue due to not only the wind destruction the storms that came with the fires caused– but because of the heavy rain that was supposed to pass through on their wedding day now. It wasn’t all easy, and it wasn’t all fun and games through the process– but I truly believe looking back at these images, their day held a beauty that not a lot of people have to go through to make a day special. Patience and acceptance was tested, and conquered with these two.
It was the MOST beautiful day, even with the hurdles thrown their way. I know I’m saying this from an outside perspective, but it truly was amazing to see everyone come together to make this day what it was for Karlie and Travis, and the amount of love they have for each other that trumped all. They got ready peacefully in their own little cabins, where Karlie listened to calming records, and Travis spent some time fishing along the river with his brother. To which they saw each other down the aisle for the first time as the rain was drizzling down— where they shared beautiful vows. We then took some time exploring in different areas along the McKenzie River— beautiful tall pines, turquoise waters, and then of course— driving on their motorcycle that plays a huge part into their life. The coolest people I know. And then to end the evening, although there were supposed to be tables to fit over a hundred guests, the small table that held 7 of the closest humans in their lives— they still celebrated, still shared beautiful stories, and danced into the night under soft twinkle lights.
I feel so heartbroken for the couples who had to change their forever-dreamt-of plans of their wedding day to be something they never anticipated; but even more beauty came out of those days then I think you could ever imagine.
I adore these two. And the relationship they have together. Truly, one hundred percent, meant to be. These memories will live on– and I always hope these images do that memory justice.
