Kimberly found out I was going to be in Iceland for an elopement this last June and her and her husband happened to be going at the same time for their second year anniversary! She reached out to me to see if I had availability and a want to shoot some anniversary pictures for them, and HECK YES I wanted to. Iceland is so far my favorite place I have ever visited, for so many reasons (coming on my next post— a beautiful Iceland elopement!)
We met up with Kimberly + Alex in the middle of the night (cause if you know Iceland in the middle of the summer, it’s pretty much 24 hours of daylight, it never gets completely dark!!) We were greeted with strong winds and a downpour at 2am in the morning on the black sand beach of Vik— but we embraced every second of it and ran around, froze our butts off, and sucked it up until the sun peaked out over the hills and mountains and it was one hundred percent worth it. Iceland is beautiful in all of the crazy changes of weather that it throws at you, and you definitely have the chance of experiencing it all while you’re there.
We had so much fun getting to know these guys and running around this vast country with them— them seeing things for the first time. I absolutely love capturing two people in foreign places— the excitement and adrenaline is so apparent and makes the experience so memorable. Love these two for getting so soaked and muddy with us in the strangest hours of the night— wouldn’t trade this night for any other!
xx
