Spring in the Boise Foothills

Emily + Kyle were my freaking rad couple for a mentor session a few weeks ago with the ever so lovely Jess Diaz. Jess came all the way from Chicago to do a mentor session with me. Nothing makes me feel more loved and valued than somebody willing to travel hundreds of miles to learn from me?! What is life. And of course, the day she came in was amidst the crazy rain storms we were having non stop for weeks!! But nothing could stop this beautiful spring session in the Boise foothills. We decided to first meet Emily + Kyle at a greenhouse (one that I spend wayyy too much money at). This was in hopes to wait out the storm that was supposed to be rolling in. And GUESS WHAT. The skies were freaking BEAUTIFUL, and it was sunny all evening. We ran around the greenhouse playing with light + getting to know these two goofs. The foothills here usually by this point in time dry up and turn brown, but we’ve been so blessed with SO much rain that I’ve gotten lucky enough to shoot in the rolling green hills numerous times this year!

We ran around until the sun disappeared, soaking up every minute of this beautiful spring weather. Emily herself is a talented photographer and I love that things like this bring the community together. It was so fun getting to know her and her guy throughout the evening and capturing a little bit of their love together.

And Jess— what a beautiful human, inside and out. Absolutely adored getting to know her over the 8 or so hours we spent together. Chatting all things business at a local coffee shop, showing her a little bit of my favorite little city, and ending the night over tacos back at my home. So grateful for you Jess and the positivity, love and compassion you have!!
