I had so much fun organizing this shoot that has been a dream of mine for quite some time now!
my husband and I have a favorite trail we like to hike up though our one and only mountain here in Boise— it leads to a massive granite rock that you can rock climb up and see the entire valley + into the next. For as long as I can remember I have been DYING to do a shoot around that area— only problem is, it’s a 6 mile in and out hike, which takes time and the desire and willingness to do it, so it had to fit the couple!
One thing I’ve learned over the years of trying to establish my business + make my brand what it is, is to not wait for those opportunities that will make you the kind of photographer you want to be, but rather, create them. If you aren’t booking the type of shoots and adventures your heart desires, then create those shoots. Create those shoots and those moments that you want to ultimately be capturing, and the rest will follow. What’s better advertising than to take a minute, really do something that you love, with free reign of creativity, and show the world what you’re capable of?

So, that’s what I decided to do. Instead of waiting for the perfect couple to hike up that mountain with me, I sought after them with a team of vendors that I love so dearly and who this wouldn’t have been possible without! I was after an elopement styled shoot, only bride and groom, so carefree, wild, and simple, only the views and them.
We found the perfect dress to obtain this goal through Free People— I wish it was mine, I mean just LOOK AT IT.
Blooms and Boards— one of the most talented florists I’ve gotten the chance to work with created the perfect fall bouquet with just the right amount of spontaneity incorporated into it.
And my favorite part of all— is the real floral choker that she made that seriously added the perfect finishing touches. I honestly wish I could have kept it forever and wore it myself?? So much talent within this girl!
Noelle made the most beautiful handwritten vows on preserved fall leaves on such short notice, something I was dying to see come to life and she made it happen so quick and so perfectly.
And lastly, the cutest couple who was SO willing to hike the 6 miles with boxes of florals in tow, half of the time back in the dark, no questions asked, freeze their butts off on top of these huge rocks, and be the most striking posed bride and groom I could have ever asked for! Love these two and their heart warming personalities.
