Over the last couple of years I’ve realized how hidden of a gem Idaho really is. Most people when they think of Idaho, you wouldn’t think that we’d have anything extravagant or epic out here. However getting to explore the last couple years with my husband, we’ve found just the opposite!! Which leads me to this:
Idaho Bride + Grooms: Read This || Idaho Weddings in Boise, McCall, and Stanley
When I first started my business, I wasn’t super in love with Idaho (not enough to feel like I was missing out!) and my heart wanted to be traveling all the time. So that’s what I set out to accomplish! I marketed myself as a traveling wedding photographer, not bound to one specific state. I did all that I could to make it known to potential clients that I was willing to travel to them for their big days and big moments. A lot of that came from investing in the travel myself, and setting up shoots or offering slightly discounted shoots in order to gain a portfolio in different areas. And lo and behold, it worked! Over the course of the next two years, I was getting more out of state weddings than I was getting local. Most people actually had/have no idea where I am based, because I wasn’t making it known anywhere! After spending weekends away from home week after week and month after month, I really started to realize how nice it is to have a “home”. Not just the building above your head, but the home where you explore every inch of it, with your closest family and friends. It wasn’t until I was gone every weekend for months on end that I realized I actually DID love the state I lived in, mostly because of the memories and friendships I did have. And of course it’s where my husband and pup are! But not only that, Idaho actually IS absolutely breathtaking.
I started to switch gears over the last year or so, trying to actually market in my area. Making it known anywhere I can that I am a wedding photographer based in Boise Idaho. And the more I get to spend exploring this little gem of a state? The better!! Boise, Stanley, McCall— my heart belongs in all these places that I now call home because of the memories I have made here. I used to get told all the time by my local weddings that I did have “so sorry this spot isn’t as epic or cool as ____” (somewhere where I had traveled to!) and that BROKE MY HEART. It’s not about that! And I never intended it to be about that.
It’s not about the place or the destination, it’s about YOU. My clients. It’s about the connection you have that drew you together to start a forever life together. It’s about your love and that itself is enough. THAT’S what I want to capture.
The location + details play a significant part into your story, and I one hundred percent resonate with that and that’s important to me too! But those that are passionate about my work, and my approach to documenting moments, these tangible memories— THAT’S what I love more than any location you could take me to. So, all that being said, MORE IDAHO WEDDINGS. The more, the merrier! Because who doesn’t love rugged mountain landscapes and being able to go home to their husband and pup at night?! See some of my Idaho wedding work below, with some of my favorite Idaho wedding vendors as well! Always have and always will be some of my favorite days, because its HOME, and my beautiful CLIENTS, made it that way because of how unbelievably amazing they are to me. Love ya’ll so much!
(I will always love allll of my couples, near and far!!)
