Here’s another personal blog post for you all!
At the beginning of December my cousin and I, and both of our husbands took a trip to New York. Madison and I grew up across the street from each other, and we literally did everything together. We get mistaken as sisters more times than I can count, and we are probably super annoying together so I honestly apologize, mostly to our husbands, especially on this trip. haha.
It’s not very often that we get to see each other, since I moved up to Idaho when I was 11, and she stayed down in St.George and is currently still living down there. There are 10 hours between us and the crazy and busy-ness of life. Madison is a videographer…so you can only imagine what this short 2.5 day trip to the East Coast was like. Again, my deepest apologies to our husbands, but I mean, they knew what they were getting into when they married us, right?

I was the only one that had been over to New York before, and it was so many years ago so it was a crazy change of pace for all of us! We traded our usual mountains and peacefulness for the busyness and fast-moving streets of New York, and every once in a while, as much as I dislike cities, it’s pretty cool to be a part of.

We spent our few days there cramming as much as we could into our trip— ice skating, going to the top of the rock, ellis island, seeing not one but two broadway shows (my favorite part of New York if we are being honest— we saw Anastasia and Phantom, and I would recommend Anastasia over and over again!), walking across Brooklyn Bridge, and taking way too many pictures and videos than probably necessary (nah, just the right amount). New York isn’t an easy place to photograph in, there are people pretty much in every picture we took, and that’s just what New York is.

Loved these 2.5 days I got spend with my husband, my cousin, and her husband— sitting for too long on subways, slow walks in central park, and running around times square getting lost in a sea of people. It’s necessary every once in a while, to take a trip just for ourselves. No obligations and no pressure. Being as creative as I want or not creative at all, it’s refreshing.

Check out the amazing video that my cousin took and put together for us too– video is something that I always WISH I could do, but absolutely don’t know how! Ps. If anyone wants to hire us together, it’d be a freaking party 😉  Check her out!!
