Sedona Arizona Boho Elopement || Mack + Mandel
This day in Sedona Arizona was beautiful beyond words. For so many reasons. I remember having a few conversations with Mackenzie over Instagram over these last few years (yes, years!!), and one of the first things she ever messaged me was she just needed a handsome man and then she was IN. She knew back in 2017 that she wanted to hire me for her wedding, and three years later– my jaw dropped when she still wanted to make that a reality.
Mackenzie and Mandel radiate the MOST positive energy I have ever been around and been a part of, and I could feel that even through her messages over the years, but even more so after they reached out about their engagement and we hopped on a FaceTime call to chat about all the things for the first time. So much light, positivity, happiness– and overall just goodness from these two. If anything at all I just wanted to be their friend? If you don’t hire me for your wedding, just at least invite me to your wedding so I can witness this beautiful thing happen for such great people, is what I was thinking. haha.
But, they ended up booking with me, and their day was fast approaching and I was SO excited for them. Their day was circled around intention. And it shows through every element of their day that made up their love and who they are as humans. Their day, March 9, was their year anniversary of being together. Mandel’s daughter, whose become a daughter to Mackenzie so quick (and it was so touching to watch their relationship), played a huge role in their day and bringing this family together was so beautiful. They got married in the place they love so much, that brings them so much joy and good energy. They even had their barber come out to give them haircuts at the beginning of their day because he meant so much to them + their story!? Everything about their day was carefully curated to radiate what brought these two together.
Which leads me to their ceremony– that was probably one of the most beautiful and unique ceremonies I have been a part of! They actually had me crying behind my camera. Instead of a traditional walk down the aisle with guests on both sides– these two decided to sit in a circle around the handmade “M” arbor built by Mandel (an incredible architect by the way!!), WITH their closest family members and friends. Their family and friends then proceeded to share stories and memories of Mack and Mandel, and it ultimately took the route of how these two have touched their lives in more than one way. It was the most community, and love centered way to marry these two for all of time. After tears were shed, stories told, champagne popped, and union celebrated– Mackenzie, Mandel, and I hiked a portion of Cathedral Rock, drove around in their families VW bus– celebrating the first few moments of being married and you can see in their EYES, how beautiful this life is now that they are one.
I’ll stop rambling and let you live through the photos now! Love this little family dearly, and for allowing me to be part of such an intimate, memorable day. Arent these two BEAUTIFUL?? Mackenzie is an angel + goddess among of us!
